Journal Ritual 3 min read
A simple monthly ritual for your child’s memories
You don’t need a system. You need twenty minutes, once a month, in the same place — and a childhood slowly assembles itself.
-
1. Pick the same twenty minutes
Last Sunday of the month, after bedtime. The date matters less than the repetition — a ritual you can keep beats a system you abandon.
-
2. Choose ten photos, not a hundred
Scroll the month and keep the ten that made you feel something. An archive you can actually revisit is worth more than a complete one.
-
3. Write three lines
What changed this month. What made you laugh. What you want them to know. Three lines is a month of childhood, saved.
-
4. Share it with the family who care
Send the month to the grandparents, aunties and uncles you’ve invited. The ritual becomes theirs too, and their replies become part of the record.
